Charles Nègre (9 de mayo de 1820 - 16 de enero de 1880) fue un fotógrafo y pintor francés del siglo XIX. [1] Nació en Grasse en una familia de origen italiano llamada Negri, que se instaló en la ciudad en 1778 y regentaba una confitería. Con 18 años comenzó a estudiar pintura en París con Paul Delaroche y después con Ingres.

21 de feb. de 2024 · He is best known for his landscape and architectural photographs of Paris, Chartres, and the Midi, a region in southern France. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Nègre printed all of his own photographs and was renowned as a photographic printer. He retired in 1863 and died at Grasse, France.
