Henri Rouart (1833-1912) was one of the main figures within the impressionist art-movement, co-founding the Société anonyme des artistes peintres, sculpteurs, graveurs, etc in 1873. He participated in 7 of the 8 impressionist expositions, showing 104 works, mostly landscapes and village views, and was involved in the organization of the second and seventh expositions.
