Since the Premier League's inception in 1992, Southampton have been a regular presence in the elite division of English football. The principle honour of the club, formed in 1885, is being the FA Cup holders in 1976 but, since first winning promotion to the old Division One in 1966, Saints have spent just 11 seasons out of the top flight.
The 2021–22 season was Southampton 's 10th consecutive season in the Premier League and the 105th season in existence. This season, the club participated in the Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup. The season covers the period from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022.
