Abdoulaye Wade , né le 29 mai 1926 [N 1] à Kébémer [N 2], est un homme d'État sénégalais, président de la république du Sénégal du 1 er avril 2000 au 2 avril 2012. Chef du PDS, il est candidat aux élections présidentielles de 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, et 2000, qu'il remporte face au président sortant Abdou Diouf.
