Daetong-bap ( Korean: 대통밥) or juktong-bap ( 죽통밥) is a South Korean dish consisting of rice mixed with various nuts, beans, and grains steamed in bamboo. This imparts the fragrance from the bamboo into the rice. The mixed rice is then eaten out of the bamboo. [1] [2] The dish is native to Damyang, South Jeolla Province.

Right outside of the entrance to the bamboo forest is this delicious restaurant. We actually parked right in front of it. Get some delicious ddeok galbi (떡갈비) and all those side dishes above, including daetongbap (대통밥). Not only are best some seriously delicious Korean foods, Damyang is famous for both of these dishes.
19 de oct. de 2012 · If you are hungry, make sure to try daetongbap (대통밥) at one of the many restaurants close to the forest. Featuring rice and various nuts cooked inside a bamboo stalk, you also get about 20 different side dishes to accompany your meal.
