La ciudad de Sisak está situada en el centro de Croacia, a 57 Km. al sureste de Zagreb. Está ubicada en la confluencia de los ríos Kupa, Sava y Odra. Tiene el puerto fluvial más importante de toda Croacia.
Durante el Imperio romano la ciudad fue conocida como Siscia, teniendo una gran importancia hasta el punto de albergar una ceca imperial que emitió moneda desde el 262 hasta el 383. [2] El mártir cristiano san Quirino fue asesinado cerca de Siscia. Actualmente es el santo patrón de la ciudad.
Si tratta di un sito archeologico con resti di un muro romano e di una torre del II secolo, con parti di depositi di grano dal IV secolo. Questi resti sono testimonianza della presenza romana in questa parte della Croazia.
