After experiencing WWI, veteran Larry Darrell (Bill Murray) seeks spiritual peace and recovery. After leaving his fiancee (Catherine Hicks), he travels to war-torn Europe and finally to the mystic Himalayas, and eventually finds what he's looking for in manual labor and the wisdom of an Indian guru.
