Personal life and death. In 1876, Albert von Rothschild married his second cousin Baroness Bettina Caroline de Rothschild (1858–1892) of Paris, France, daughter of Alphonse James de Rothschild. They had seven children. Their firstborn was Georg von Rothschild (22 March 1877 - 10 January 1934). He never married and died in a private mental hospital.
