Desmond Wilkinson Llewelyn (Welsh: [ɬɛˈwɛlɪn]; 12 September 1914 – 19 December 1999) was a Welsh actor. He was best known for his role as Q in 17 of the James Bond films between 1963 and 1999.
Major Boothroyd (also known by the initial "Q") was the quartermaster of the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS/MI6). The character was portrayed by late actor Desmond Llewelyn and appeared in the James Bond film series from From Russia with Love (1963) to The World Is Not Enough (1999).

Desmond Llewelyn (12 September 1914 – 19 December 1999) was the most famous actor to portray Q. He acted in the role from From Russia with Love to The World Is Not Enough except Live and Let Die. He also reprised the role in a 1967 TV feature, Welcome to Japan, Mr. Bond, alongside Lois Maxwell.
