The Electric Light Orchestra, conocida también como ELO, se formó oficialmente en la primavera de 1970, aunque sus primeros pasos se dieron en 1971, tras la disolución del grupo 'The Move'. Tres de sus músicos, Roy Wood, Jeff Lynne y Bev Bevan decidieron entonces formar otra banda, la ELO.
