I believe (but am not 100% certain) that the voice used for the 1984 launch was NOT Macintalk. It was a predecessor called MacTalk. It's available at Macintosh Garden with instructions on how to use it. Look for the "Apple BS Disk I" and MacWrite Book Disk for working with "BS Disks"

I’ve got emulators running all the old MacinTalk voices, and some running Repeat After Me which lets you map v3 and earlier voices onto your own tone and inflection.
