Sara Sothern. Sara Sothern (born Sara Viola Warmbrodt; August 21, 1895 – September 11, 1994) was an American stage actress and the mother of actress Elizabeth Taylor .
Born Sara Viola Warmbrodt, she later adopted the stage name Sara Sothern during her successful career as a stage actress in the 1920s. Sara’s passion for performing arts was apparent from a young age, and it was a love she would pass on to her daughter, Elizabeth. In 1926, Sara married Francis Lenn Taylor, an art dealer.
