Satoshi Kon (今 敏, Kon Satoshi, October 12, 1963 – August 24, 2010) was a Japanese film director, animator, screenwriter and manga artist from Sapporo, Hokkaido, and a member of the Japanese Animation Creators Association (JAniCA).
Died: August 24, 2010 (aged 46) Birth place: Kushiro, Hokkaido, Japan. Satoshi Kon was a Japanese director of anime films. Kon started his career as a manga artist and editor in Young Magazine, and then made his screenwriting debut with Magnetic Rose, a section of the anthology film Memories.
Millennium Actress (千年女優, Sennen Joyū) is a 2001 Japanese animated drama film co-written and directed by Satoshi Kon and produced by Madhouse. Loosely based on the lives of actresses Setsuko Hara and Hideko Takamine, [3] it tells the story of two documentary filmmakers investigating the life of a retired acting legend.
