Maybe she was difficult when younger, but she seems to have mellowed in her old age. Lovely and sad stories about Shelley's final years in this video. That was very sweet. Thanks for sharing.

As a starlet, she was very well-read and outspoken, a rare bird in 1950s Hollywood. She had opinions about literature, politics, psychology, etc., and expressed them with wit.

The only time she got pissed was with Robert Duvall at the oscars. None of it would be allowed today. The thing is she's not even that heavy in that clip. Shelley Winters may have made a wonderful writer or watchmaker. But the cinema is a visual medium.
