The M247 Sergeant York DIVAD (Division Air Defense) was a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG), developed by Ford Aerospace in the late 1970s. Based on the M48 Patton tank, it replaced the Patton's turret with a new one that featured twin radar -directed Bofors 40 mm rapid-fire guns.

The M247 Sergeant York Division Air Defense (DIVAD) was a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun developed by Ford Aerospace in the late 1970s. A new turret with twin 40 mm M266 Bofors autocannons guided by radar has been fitted, using the chassis of the M48 Patton main battle tank.
22 de feb. de 2017 · The M247 Sergeant York was a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun named after a WW1 hero, but it was useless and obsolete. It had a targeting system that couldn't distinguish between enemy aircraft and latrines, and it couldn't keep up with tanks.
