They usually give you a list of a few major car rental car agencies and don’t tell you which one until you pay. Direct as the company I work for offers a better deal when booking direct, than third party sites.
Car rental prices change by the day and are very much tied to supply and demand. If a company does have many cars to rent on a particular day, they will raise rates to squeeze every nickel out of a rental. So if you're trying to rent in a high-demand period, expect to pay more.
According to the Enterprise website to rent you need to have a valid license (G2 is fine), valid form of payment, and meet the age restrictions (must be over 21, if you're under 25 you'll have to pay an extra ~$20 per day) Chiming in, I was able to use a G2 at Hertz and Budget. Just use Turo. Easy peasy. I looked up online and got mixed answers.
Just a quick positive anecdote: Rented a car from Vacanza rent a car in Chania, just for 2 days for a total of $137.82 usd (mid-May, 2023) for a Suzuki Celerio with manual transmission. Went to the office the night before and set up the terms and came back the next morning to sign the agreement, pay, and get the car.
Please do NOT rent a car seat. You don’t know the history, cleaning, or anything that was done to it. If you’re flying, your kids obviously have their own seat so just take your seats on the plane with you. They should sit in a car seat on the plane anyway.
1 de jun. de 2023 · Travel in comfort, enjoy the view, with working WiFi and chargers at each seat. Gas prices are around $ 7-8 per gallon. Consider the highway tolls. Parking in Lisbon and Porto when/where you need it can be challenging and expensive. Both cities are made for walking. You'll be glad you dumped the car.

One tip for you a bit outside your inquiry of rental car companies is that the gas stations in Iceland require a PIN code for your credit card.

No joke they’re cheap and doesn’t matter what you use them for. Find a friend who is older than 25 and going with you and rent it out in their name.

IRS says cost per mile driven is $.65/mile. So 2,000 miles x $.65 = $1,300. I rented a jeep in April 2020 (peak Covid) for $1,500 for 30-40 days.
