Herbert Plank (born 3 September 1954) is a former Italian alpine skier who competed in the 1976 Winter Olympics and in the 1980 Winter Olympics.
Plank won five World Cup races and achieved numerous podium finishes. His first World Cup points came in 1972 and his first victory came in 1973 in the downhill at Val d’Isere. The second victory came in 1976 on the famous Lauberhorn downhill, in the same year, also winning an Olympic downhill bronze that year.
Herbert Plank ist ein ehemaliger italienischer Skirennläufer. Nach Zeno Colò und bis zur Ära des Kristian Ghedina galt der Südtiroler als der erfolgreichste Abfahrer Italiens. Unter anderem konnte er im Dezember 1977 als erster Italiener die Abfahrt auf der Saslong in Gröden gewinnen.
Ihr Gastgeber Herbert Plank gehörte in den siebziger Jahren zu den erfolgreichsten Skirennläufern Italiens. Seine Karriere begann im Jahr 1972 mit dem Gewinn der Goldmedaille bei der erstmals ausgetragenen Junioreneuropameisterschaft.

Herbert Plank conquistò i primi punti in Coppa del Mondo il 24 gennaio 1972, piazzandosi 10º in slalom gigante sulla pista Chuenisbärgli di Adelboden, e nella stessa stagione conquistò la medaglia d'oro nella discesa libera alla prima edizione degli Europei juniores, Madonna di Campiglio 1972.
