They become fast friends, but when a monster hunter, Capt. Barnabas (David Arquette), finds out, the kids have to scramble to keep Sigmund hidden. Worse still, Sigmund's brothers Blurp and Slurp don't like humans.
Blurp and Slurp don't want to go back to ghoul school, so they try to trick Sigmund into taking their place. Sigmund accidentally breaks Aunt Zelda’s bowl and decides to get money from his family’s cave to replace it. Sigmund's mother, Sweet Mama, decides to redecorate the sea monster cave.

Sigmund volunteers to help Johnny and Robyn win the annual sand castle contest. But when Sigmund gets sick in the process, the kids have to figure out how to cure an ill sea monster. Meanwhile, Scotty brings a robotic vacuum to clean their cave, and Slurp thinks it's a pet his mother has finally gotten for him.
