Born to a poor farm family in upstate New York, F. W. Woolworth began his career by clerking in a general store in the local market center.

17 de mar. de 2024 · F.W. Woolworth died at Winfield Hall on April 8th, 1919, leaving his entire estate to his wife Jennie. Mrs. Woolworth stayed on at Glen Cove until she died in 1924. Subsequently, the property changed hands and uses several times and is presently owned and maintained privately. Plans have not been made for the property's future use.
