International students need to apply as either a first-year or a transfer student. There is not a separate application process for an international student. Applications, required materials, and additional common international curricula (below) must arrive in our office by our published deadlines.

Starting on August 1 every year, you can begin applying to the University of Wisconsin–Madison. As a first-year applicant, you can apply using either the Common Application or the Universities of Wisconsin Application. There is no preference between applications.
