Our S1-S2 students continue with the Broad General Education they began in Primary School. This ensures coverage of eight curricular areas: English. Mathematics. Expressive Arts (including Art & Design, Drama and Music) Health and Wellbeing (including Physical Education and Personal and Social Education) Modern Foreign Languages.
Basketball. Kirkcudbright Academy has a strong tradition for its basketball teams, competing across the Authority and further afield. The club runs throughout the year with teams at junior and senior level. Coaching takes place on a Tuesday from 3.45-5.00pm. Contact Mr Grounsell for more information.
The Academy operates a 35 period week, 7 periods per day, with the lessons starting at 8.55am every morning, with periods arranged as shown below: Period 1 8.55 – 9.45; Period 2 9.45 – 10.35; Period 3 10.35 – 11.05; Break 11.05 – 11.20; Period 4 11.20 – 12.10; Period 5 12.10 – 1.00
