Manfredo Fest nacio en Porto Alegre en 1936 y murio el 8 de octubre de 1999 en Tampa Florida. Fue uno de los pioneros del Bossa Nova. Tambien fue director de orquesta y pianista de jazz. Se inicio en estudios de piano clasico y fue su padre un concertista Aleman de piano quien fue profesor de musica en la universidad de Porto Alegre.
