Every time I revisit Puppet Master I forget how surreal it is—dreamy waves of Paul Le Mat’s hair cycling through a hazy restraint filter of weirdo characters, an all seeing eye spotting, a stuffed dog, psychics, odd pacing, and spookhouse hotel setting—a perfect malaise atmos of 80’s gothique that really comes together with somewhat underused (but never under appreciated) puppet ...

Collodi’ — a nod to Carlo Collodi, creator of Pinnochio) is a distinctly Schmoellerian affair, packed to the gills with the obsessions and rhythms that define the other horror films of his unique oeuvre.
