GSA is an arts education program of The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts. GSA is offered at no cost to the student, and is made available through funding from the state, as well as private fundraising. The value of GSA is over $4,000 per student. GSA has served all 120 counties in the Commonwealth through the summer program.
The Governor’s School for the Arts seeks and welcomes applicants of all backgrounds and identities, regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, mental and physical health/ability, language, hometown, high school, religious belief, or cultural background. Translations of our materials are available upon request.

Summer Programs. Artists-at-heart get the true Govie Experience in our immersive, overnight summer programs. Programs serve students in grades 6-11, and range from 1-5 weeks long, depending on art area and grade level. South Carolina residency is required to apply for all programs, with the exception of Summer Dance.
