Kuhlau - Sonatina No. 4 en Do mayor, Op.55 No 1. Compuestas en 1823, el Opus 55 de Kuhlau contiene seis sonatinas. Todas ellas breves, de dos o tres movimientos, promediando los cinco minutos de duración, con un primer movimiento con sección de desarrollo muy breve o inexistente. La que escuchamos solo tiene dos movimientos, animados ambos.
Friedrich Kuhlau, Friedrich Daniel Rudolph Kuhlau, 11.9.1786-12.3.1832, dansk komponist, sammen med C.E.F. Weyse den vigtigste repræsentant for den tidlige romantik i dansk musik. Friedrich Kuhlau blev født i Uelzen i en slægt af regimentsmusikere, og familien flyttede ca. 1802 til Hamburg, hvor han gav koncerter som pianist, udgav sine første værker og fik lidt musikundervisning.
