Sand Sharks are pretty tough for their level---they're actually a bit more challenging than elites of similar level. When I killed him, he dropped absolutely nothing. The various elite sharks in World of Warcraft do not appear to have much use, so far---they rarely drop items, and when they do, these items are not much different from the drops one can find elsewhere off of other elites.
