Windlesham House School is one of the oldest independent preparatory schools in the country and the first independent preparatory boarding school to become co-educational. The school was founded under a different name in 1837 on the Isle of Wight by Lieutenant Charles Robert Malden, who founded and began running the school with guidance from Masters at the prestigious Rugby School in Warwickshire.
The teaching day finishes at 4.30pm after which pupils can go home or take part in a wide range of activities. Prep (homework) can be done at school from 5.30pm and then pupils can be picked up or stay for supper. Pupils can also come for breakfast from 7.30am. There is a small charge for day pupils to attend breakfast and supper.
12 de may. de 2023 · They’d won 35 out of 36 chess matches over the winter, including knocking out our ‘B’ team 4-0, but Kyle W, Joshua T, Lucas VF and Andi T won the final against Goldstone 3-1! It was quite a day and excellent experience for our future chess masters. Windlesham House win both U13 and U11 chess tournaments to claim the Butler Cup.
