The brothers played many years together in bands such as The Scranton Sirens, Jean Goldkette’s Band, and the California Ramblers they eventually created the The Dorsey Brothers.

Their breakup opened the door for Benny Goodman. Both brothers led successful bands, but the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra dominated the era. It still survives as a ghost band.
