He died on April 20, 1729, at Cobbs Plantation, Henrico County, Virginia. His mother Jane Rolfe (October 10, 1650 - c. 1676) was the granddaughter of Pocahontas.

John Bolling (1676-1729) of Cobbs Plantation, Henrico Co., Member of the Virginia House of Burgesses. He was the great-grandson and only living descendant of Pocahontas. He had six children (listed above) and his descendants were known as the "Red Bollings".
