Biography. Vittorio Pozzo was one of the all-time great football managers, and was unquestionably one of the most successful international coaches. Between 1912-48 he had three spells as manager of the Italian national team, covering a 20-year period, and in that time he led them to two FIFA World Cup and one Olympic triumph.

After leading the Italian teams to the 1912 and 1924 Olympics in Stockholm and Paris – the latter time winning a bronze medal – Vittorio Pozzo was named the first head coach of the Azzurri not to be shackled by the decision-making of a technical committee in 1929.
