Clint Black was born in New Jersey but raised in the Katy, Texas, area. After he dropped out of high school, he worked the Houston area clubs and held other odd day jobs to make ends meet. He met Hayden Nicholas in January 1987 while playing gigs around the Houston area and since then have co-written many hits together.
