I would put both Gershwin and Lloyd Webber into classical, as well as modern film score composers because it stems from writing music for opera, ballets, and plays, thus the orchestration, etc. Pop music is a different category altogether, and when you study music history, pop music is there, but looks a lot different than today’s pop music, and isn’t considered the “classical” genre.
