Horn (1908–1993) earned a PhD in Egyptology at the University of Chicago (1951) and then went on to teach at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, which had in 1947 begun offering a master’s degree in archaeology. During the next twenty years forty-three individuals earned this degree.
