In addition to having three hits that year with ‘Runaway Boys’, ‘Rock This Town’, and ‘Stray Cat Strut’, they also performed on the eighth day of the Montreux Jazz Festival.

Lynne produced and wrote the 1983 top-40 hit "Slipping Away" for Dave Edmunds and played on sessions (with Tandy) for Edmunds's album, Information. Lynne also produced six tracks on Edmunds's follow-up album in 1984, Riff Raff.
