I feel like Geoff Johns always wanted/intended for his iteration of the Legion to return since Doomsday Clock, but Bendis and DC kind of forced him to make way for their version of the Legion that was coming out at the time. I now get the impression that Johns is going back to his original intention of bringing back his version of the team.
