The sounds of Blood Fire Death and especially Hammerheart spoke to the indomitable warrior within us all. When SIG:AR:TYR came along many years later, they clicked for me immediately in a way few black metal acts ever did because they were flying the same foundational battle standards as Bathory before them.

Hace 3 días · Bathory – Hammerheart (Noise Records) Il precedente “Blood Fire Death” aveva gettato le basi per qualcosa di immenso, una pesante eredità che “ Hammerheart ” raccoglie e sviluppa ancora meglio. Smesso il furibondo black/thrash degli esordi, i Bathory danno il via al filone vichingo con un capolavoro di musica oscura, epica e cadenzata.

Ha un debole per la piadina crudo e squacquerone, è rimasto fermo ai 16-bit e preferisce di gran lunga il vinile al digitale. La recensione di Blood On Ice, album dei Bathory di Quorthon, uscito nel 1996 e conclusione della trilogia "epica". Con Man Of Iron e The Sword.
