Personally, I definitely see it in Muriel and her sister (the “you’re terrible, Muriel” one), at least. FYI, Muriel’s Wedding (the movie) turns 30 this year. The marketing really misrepresented this movie, it’s a lot darker and more fucked up (in a good way) than you might expect, but also sweet.
