I think what this might be indicating is that Noelle, Dess, and perhaps even Kris both got stuck in a dark world of the Ice Palace in Dragonblazers, which resulted in Dess getting sent somewhere Darker than dark and Noelle and Kris getting traumatized with either Noelle or both of them repressing the event.
Some people think he can move in the light world but that seems unlikely. Of course he will. He’s a main character and part of the main team, he’ll always be there. How we don’t know for sure but Toby will find a way to make it make sense. But I guarntee he’s not gonna be left out of any chapter.
