Hace 2 días · Annie Oakley (born Phoebe Ann Mosey; August 13, 1860 – November 3, 1926) was an American sharpshooter and folk heroine who starred in Buffalo Bill's Wild West. Oakley developed hunting skills as a child to provide for her impoverished family in western Ohio.
Called "Annie" by her sisters, she reportedly chose Oakley as her professional surname after the name of an Ohio town near her home. Eight years after the Battle of the Little Bighorn, the Lakota Sioux leader who orchestrated the defeat of General George Custer's troops attended one of Oakley's performances in St. Paul, Minnesota, in March 1884.
