Whether your goal is to be a visual artist, become a museum curator, or pursue a broad-based education that will prepare you for a wide range of careers, the Hartford Art School will cultivate your creativity. We offer eight undergraduate studio degree programs and a bachelor’s in art history.
There are many pieces to pull together—recommendations, transcripts, portfolio reviews, SAT/ACT scores—and we’re here to help. Apply online or in person by meeting an admission coordinator at a high school visit or portfolio day. You can also apply via the Common Application.

Students can also apply to the University of Hartford via the Common Application and requesting to major in art. Admission to the BFA program at the Hartford Art School is based on a variety of criteria, with all factors in the applicant’s background considered.
