He served as president of Howard University in Washington D.C. from July 21, 2014 to August 31, 2023. Frederick also serves as the distinguished Charles R. Drew Professor of Surgery.
Dr. Wayne Frederick is a former president of Howard University and a cancer surgeon at Howard University Hospital. He is also a distinguished professor of surgery, a board member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, and a recipient of many awards and honors.
13 de abr. de 2022 · Dr. Frederick, an alumnus and former interim president of Howard University, announced his plan to step down by June 2024 after 34 years of service. He led the University to academic excellence, fiscal strength, and community service, and initiated major projects such as the $785 million campus improvement and the hospital partnership.
