You're Never Alone with a Schizophrenic is the fourth solo studio album by Ian Hunter. The album featured members of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band as the backing band. AllMusic considers the album to be Hunter's best.

22 de ene. de 2007 · As for the album itself, Mick Ronson provides as usual great arrangements and production, you get Hunter's own version of "Ships", also covered by Barry Manilow, and the backing band along. with Mick and Ian are Max Weinberg, Gary Tallent, and Roy Bittan from the E. Street Band.
Released on March 27, 1979, You’re Never Alone With a Schizophrenic rose to #35 on the Billboard album list during the 24 weeks it charted, and got significant airplay on FM radio.
The band was formed by Ronson along with three members of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street band: Roy Bittan, Gary Tallent and drummer Max Weinberg. Bittan had also worked with David Bowie on the 1976 Station to Station album, continuing Hunter’s habit of borrowing ex-Bowie sidesmen.
