David Sanborn – Hearsay (1994) mid-tempo gems to downright funky scorchers. His reworking of Marvin Gaye's "Got to Give It Up" pays homage to the original party song, which in itself was more of an instrumental (with Gaye's voice serving as the "horn").

Howard Hewett Jr. (born October 1, 1955) [1] is an American singer–songwriter. [2] Hewett rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the group Shalamar. [2] In 1985, he left the group to pursue his solo career, [2] but he later returned to the group in 2001. He signed with Elektra Records.
