In at least one instance, one of those recordings, “Fralich in Swing,” led directly to a very lucrative hit recording for both Benny and Ziggy, “And the Angels Sing.”.

22 de may. de 2019 · Highlights include “How High The Moon,” “Body and Soul,” “Boppin’ With Zig,” “Zaggin’ With Zig,” “Samba With Zig,” (but not “Zig’s Polka”), “I Found A New Baby,” and “Mean To Me.” “And The Angels Sing” gets a fine remake with Elman also playing similar solos on “Please Mama” and “The Wedding Samba.”
In 1956, he was asked to recreate a klezmer solo with the vocalist Martha Tilton for the movie, The Benny Goodman Story, but was unable to, his technique having since withered away. Elman appeared performing it in the film, but another trumpeter, Mannie Klein , played the solo on the soundtrack.
Goodman had arranger Jimmy Mundy write a full band chart on Fralich in Swing, featuring Ziggy's trumpet and vocalist Martha Tilton, with lyrics added by Johnny Mercer.
