It is one of the five significant rice dishes in Japan. This dish is a popular cooking method in shellfish-producing areas, but it is a representative dish of Fukagawa, Tokyo.
It's doing well enough to get collaborations like pop up cafes in Shinjuku, and it was also in the top 10 of ALL shows on Netflix in Japan for a few weeks in a row, which is also a good sign. A season 2 is very possible. Pretty well. Just like the manga, it is more well known in Japan, than in the West, where it's "Hidden Gem".
