Today Witts is an academic, having published a history of the Arts Council in 1998, and lectures on modern music in London and Edinburgh.
Since the group disbanded, Dick Witts has broadcast frequently on BBC radio, written books on Nico and the British Arts Council, and is now an academic and lecturer in modern music. He also reminisced on dark times in Manchester in Carol Morley's film The Alcohol Years in 2001.
