At times a smiling, come hither succulence in Ross' voice is reminiscent of Anita O'Day, which is especially apt on Cole Porter's "Love for Sale.

Annie Ross (born Annabelle McCauley Allan Short; 25 July 1930 – 21 July 2020) was a British-American singer and actress, best known as a member of the influential jazz vocal trio Lambert, Hendricks & Ross.
This CD reeks with nostalgia of the old London Town in the days that The Beatles still hung out in Hamburg & the world was innocent shrugging of the Cuban Crisis with the death of a president. This brings back the days of Ronnie's when the sweat dripped down the musicians face onto his keys.

Harkit Records has issued 76 minutes from Ross's live 1965 performances at Annie's Room in London. Like many older recordings, especially those done outside of a studio, this won't win a prize for superb audio fidelity.
