Founded in 1967, Archbishop John Carroll High School is a Catholic, coeducational, college preparatory high school accredited by Middle States and affiliated with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. We boast a stunning 55-acre hilltop campus along Main Line Radnor, Pennsylvania.
Archbishop Carroll High School is named for John Carroll (1735–1815), the first bishop and subsequently the first archbishop of the United States. The school opened its doors to students on August 18, 1961. Carroll's first class graduated May 31, 1965.
Carroll's Namesake. John Carroll was born in Upper Marlborough, Maryland on January 8, 1735. After being educated in Europe, he joined the Jesuit order there in 1753. He returned to America in 1774, and joined the cause for American independence.

We are named for John Carroll, the First Bishop of the United States.
