Archbishop John Carroll High School is a four-year secondary school part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia, located in Radnor, Pennsylvania, on a 55-acre campus.
The Class of 2024 is the 60th graduating class in the history of Archbishop Carroll High School. The 173-student group earned more than $20 million in merit-based scholarships and performed 16,412 hours of inspired, not required, community service throughout their time at Carroll.
Founded in 1967, Archbishop John Carroll High School is a Catholic, coeducational, college preparatory high school accredited by Middle States and affiliated with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. We boast a stunning 55-acre hilltop campus along Main Line Radnor, Pennsylvania.
Archbishop Carroll High School is named for John Carroll (1735–1815), the first bishop and subsequently the first archbishop of the United States. The school opened its doors to students on August 18, 1961. Carroll's first class graduated May 31, 1965.
In 1784, John Carroll was appointed Superior of the Mission for the new American Republic upon the recommendation of Dr. Benjamin Franklin. He became the first bishop in the United States in 1789, when Pope Pius VI confirmed him as the Bishop of Baltimore.
