Doug was the original bass player/occasional singer with Silmarillion and Marillion until he left in 1980. Thanks to Keith Wickenden and David Richardson for their work on this one.

  5. 31 de ene. de 2017 · They initially formed as an instrumental group in Aylesbury, England, in 1978 with Steve Rothery on guitar, Mick Pointer on drums, Doug Ivrine on bass, and Brian Jelliman on keyboards. Irvine sang on some of the band’s early demos in 1980, but was replaced by Fish in 1981.

  7. 6 de dic. de 2020 · In December 1977, vocalist and bass player Doug Irvine formed the band that was to become Marillion. After asking around locally for a drummer, he found Mick Pointer. They first called themselves Electric Gypsy and then changed the name to Silmarillion.
